Dr. Rutledge grew up in a military family but found a home in North Carolina when he attended the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, graduating in 1993 with a B.S. in Biology. He then attended the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, TN, and obtained his medical degree in 1997. Dr. Rutledge stayed at Vanderbilt for his internship and residency training in Pediatrics, before joining Cornerstone Pediatrics in August of 2000. He enjoys helping new parents navigate the joys and trials of newborn and infant care. He also has a lot of experience managing ADHD. He likes encouraging patients and families to achieve their best health outcomes through healthy diets, physical activity, and healthy lifestyle choices (wear those bike helmets!)
Dr. Rutledge lives in Cary and has been married to his wife Robin for over 25 years. They have three “adult children”, college-aged and beyond. In his spare time, he is very involved in his local church, and enjoys cooking (especially grilling and smoking meats), time with his family, and travel. He is also into anything having to do with the UNC Tar Heels!
